I’d be willing to bet you take pride in your work.
You desire to do work that matters.
Work that helps people.
You hate the idea of being average.
The solution?
SVM - Smallest Viable Market
Set out to serve the smallest group that could sustain you.
If we try to engage with everyone, we rarely delight anyone.
Go small and go deep
2. The Only
Consumers have more choices than ever before.
This creates pressure to lower our prices.
The problem with this is it becomes a race to the bottom, which is painful.
The solution?
Be the only.
The only solution that delivers a specific result.
Call it affordable luxury.
You can charge a premium price when you offer a premium product.
3. Loyalty
What’s better?
”Yeah, they are good I enjoyed working with them.”
OR
”Oh my God you HAVE to go there, they are the peanut butter to my jelly with a splash of honey on top!”
We don’t tell others about mediocrity.
The solution?
Find out who you want to serve and give them a reason to tell others.
True fans create loyalty.
Be specific about who you decide to serve.
