3-Tip Tuesdays: The Halo Effect, The Framing Effect, and The Anchoring Effect

If you understand how people think.
You can improve your marketing.
Better marketing = more impact.
👇
1. The Halo Effect
First impressions matter A LOT.
Someone’s first impression of you has a carry-over effect.
This is called The Halo Effect.
Boring social media = people assume you’re boring.
Poorly designed website = people assume your services are poor.
Weak handshake = people assume you lack confidence.
This goes both ways.
Fun social media = fun person.
Good website design = good services.
Firm handshake = confidence.
How are you showing up to your customers?
2. The Framing Effect
“You have a 90% chance of surviving surgery.”
”You have a 10% chance you may die from surgery.”
Same message, different frame.
The best way to use framing to your advantage.
Present the solution positively and the risk negatively.
”Attend our fun event, and you’ll avoid years of back pain.”
”Sign up now to stop looking like a slob at the beach.”
”Download our free guide and prevent bloating.”
How are you framing your services?
3. The Anchoring Effect
We rely HEAVILY on the first piece of information as a benchmark (or anchor) to guide our next decision.
”It’s normally $1,000 but now it’s on sale for $100! What a deal!”
”It’s normally 5 sessions but today it’s 10 sessions!”
Kohls?
Walmart?
T.J. Maxx?
They aren’t giving you a deal, they are using anchoring to make you FEEL like you are getting a deal.
NEVER price gauge people, but do recognize the game you’re playing.
Are you anchoring your prices correctly?
✌️
Until next time,
