Does content creation feel like you’re wearing a weighted vest?
Here’s how to take that vest off.
LFG
👇
1. Long-form
Create one long-form piece of content.
You have three choices.
Written, video, or audio.
Written = blogging.
Video = YouTube.
Audio = Podcasting
Pick the one you enjoy.
The one you enjoy is the one you’ll stick to.
Create content on a topic you’re knowledgeable about.
Or want to be knowledgeable about.
You’re always a few steps in front of someone.
Talk about that.
2. Short-form
Cut the long-form into short-form content.
You’re only limited by your creativity.
Here are some examples.
Quotes, Carousels, Shorts, Stories, Emails, Reels, TikToks, etc.
Instead of trying to create a ton of content.
Learn how to say the same thing 100 different ways.
3. Distribution
A good friend and fellow content creator taught me this.
”You should spend 20% on content creation & 80% on distribution”
On Monday he creates his long-form content (written).
On Tuesday he creates his short-form content.
Then spends the rest of the week on distribution.
He now has 30,000+ people in his newsletter.
Here’s what I mean by distribution.
You’ve already created version 1.0.
Post it where more people can find it
Where do your dream customers already hang out?
Those are the places to post.
Take home point…
- Create long-form content.
- Cut into short-form content.
- Distribute widely where your customers hang out.
This newsletter was inspired by my interview with Eric Champ.
Next week you’ll learn how a fitness enthusiast turned his love of content creation into a full-time business.
✌️
Until next time,
