Every great post starts with a great idea.
Here are 3 places to get great content ideas.

1. Reddit
Reddit is vastly underrated.
I will die on this hill if I need to.
It is the 3rd most visited website on the internet.
Only behind Google and YouTube.
It’s a giant discussion board of people asking questions about every niche topic imaginable.
In other words… people are actively searching for the answers that YOU can help them solve.
Here’s what you do.
- Go to reddit.com
- Search for the subreddit of your niche
- Look at what people are talking about
- Create content on those topics
Rinse and repeat… forever.
There are subreddits for everything.
And I mean… everything (photo).
2. Listening
Here’s the problem with listening.
Most people don’t.
I used to think I needed to develop all of my content ideas on my own.
This is great when you have them.
But what do you do when you run out of ideas?
You ASK… or you LISTEN.
Some of the best content ideas come from just straight-up listening.
- Client calls
- Podcast interviews
- Surveys I send out
If you got REALLY GOOD at listening.
You’d never have issues coming up with ideas again.
3. Competitors
Competitors don’t have to be competition.
They can actually be a great resource.
When I’m struggling to come up with content ideas.
I often look at what other people in my industry are doing.
If what they are doing is working.
I’ll steal like an artist and put my own spin on it.
- Their YouTube videos
- Their blog articles
- Their podcast episodes
- Their social media pages
Obviously, don’t copy it exactly.
But don’t make the opposite mistake and ignore it completely.

- Browse Reddit for content ideas.
- Ask your customers for content ideas.
- Look to your competitors for content ideas.
