I recently competed in Hyrox.
It’s a fitness competition for the non-crossfitter.
Leading up to race day, I noticed that all of the gyms in my area were hosting Hyrox specific workouts.
They also offered free entry into the race if you joined their group workouts.
Talk about a win/win.
Gyms get more members, and Hyrox gets more competitors.
The lesson?
If you hate marketing for yourself.
Find mutually beneficial partnerships.
We are better together.
If you want to make your marketing simple.
Make it repeatable.
You can expect the same format regardless of where you compete in Hyrox.
The added benefit?
It makes marketing simple.
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel for every event.
Marketing is often less about creativity.
And more about consistency.
If you want people to talk about you.
Make it sharable.
Hyrox has gotten a lot of things right.
But there is one that stands out.
They make sharing easy.
Throughout the entire event, there were photographers everywhere.
Capturing a TON of content.
After the event, you get a link to your photos.
Bingo, bango, you have photos to share immediately.
Freaking… genius.
Who doesn’t want to rave about their recent accomplishment?
The lesson?
Make sharing easy.
Capture content for them and then let them decide what to do with it.
