1. The Demand Capture Dilemma
I was chatting with a bunch of chiropractors last weekend, and I noticed a disturbing trend.
They relied almost exclusively on referrals and local events for leads.
If I had a silver nickel for every time I heard a health practitioner say they rely on “word of mouth” and “networking” for leads… I’d have a lot of f**king nickels.
Don’t get me wrong, word of mouth is fantastic, and events are powerful. However, if they're your only source of leads, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity.
The internet.
Think of it this way… When someone tweaks their back or injures their shoulder, what's the first thing they do?
They Google it (or ChatGPT it).
In either case, if you’re nowhere to be found… the opportunity to help them is missed forever.
This is what I call "demand capture," and it's the key to achieving consistent and predictable growth.

2. My Google Awakening
I get it. It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of running a practice. Marketing can feel like an afterthought.
But I've seen firsthand how powerful a strong online presence can be.
I recently worked with a chiropractor who had one of the three components in the Google Trifecta.
Their Google Business Profile (GBP) was set up correctly, and they consistently received 5-star reviews. However, their website looked like it was built in 2007 and moved like a sloth on Ambien.
Considering how much traffic they were receiving from their GBP, it was a massive missed opportunity.
After we redesigned their website and made it SEO-friendly, we saw an almost immediate 43% uptick in conversions.
Now, imagine what would happen if we ran a few Google ads towards it. (Spoiler: they’d be booked out 3 weeks from now.)

3. The Three-Headed Marketing Monster
The "Google Trifecta" is the most underutilized yet powerful strategy for health practitioners to dominate local search:
- Optimized Website: Your website needs to be lightning-fast, mobile-friendly, and explicitly optimized for local keywords. Include your city name in page titles, headings, and content. Have separate service pages for each treatment you offer, rather than lumping everything together on one page.
- Fully Leveraged Google Business Profile: This is the free listing that appears in Maps and the "Local Pack" (the three businesses that show up at the top of local searches). Claim it, verify it, and complete EVERY section… hours, services, attributes, description, and photos. Then, focus obsessively on obtaining genuine reviews (minimum of 15, ideally 50+).
- Strategic Google Ads: Unlike social media ads, which show to people who aren't looking for you, Google Ads puts you in front of people actively searching for solutions. Start with just 3-5 high-intent keywords related to your specialty + location (e.g., "chiropractic Austin").
The magic happens when all three work together…
Your ads drive high-intent traffic to your well-optimized website, while your Google Business Profile builds trust with reviews and makes it easy to find exactly when someone needs you most.
